1. Color icon - Wet n wild cosmetics. This brand is also available online and in most walmarts and beauty supply stores in America. They have amazing pigmented eyeshadows that are brilliant on the eyes with an eye primer and stay all day long. I have yet to try their blushes and lipsticks and blushes but i am more than impressed with the shadows. A personal favorite is the Comfort Zone palette. Check it out!2. e primers. For those who do not know what an eye primer is, let me enlighten you because i myself had no idea until about a year ago. They are usually a translucent liquid consistency that you put on the eyes and rub on prior to putting on your eyeshadow. Now this is why you need a primer...Generally when you put on eyeshadow, it blends into your skin... the color is never as pigmented as you see it in the pot and it takes several applications to get the color to be reflective of the original shade. in addition, as you wear your eyeshadow, throughout the day, the eyeshadow blends with your natural oils. fades and at times you can end up at the end of the day looking like a hot mess! Enter primer,...with the primer, you eyeshadow stays put ALL day, is bright, brilliant and reflects the original color. I kid you not..if you still doubt it, look up images on google with and without primer. Now , i was actually getting to a point here. E.l.f Primers are awesome and only a couple of dollars on ebay and they work just as well as high end eye primers. I am a huge fan of the mineral sheer eye primer! Check it out.
3. Milk of magnesia!!! Now for those of us plagued with oily skin. Listen up... You need to get you some milk of magnesia. This stuff will soak up every ounce of oil that your face produces and keep your makeup in place all day. Same concept as an eye primer but for your face! The way I use it is to wash, moisturize and then place a thin layer of milk of magnesia with a cotton pad all over my face.
Let it dry. If you end up looking like Casper the friendly ghost or like a bag of white powder exploded on your face, guess what????You used too much. Thin layers!!! Then apply foundation as usual. You will be pleasantly surprised. I know I was!...Foundation was matte and stayed put all day!Now the brand I use is phillips milk of magnesia. Original formula. This is actually also used as stomach medicine so you may find it in that isle but it is actually the main ingredient in most oil absorbing products. Now you want original...no fancy weird flavors or additives. Check it out...one bottle will last you months!
